Alums and friends are invited to the opening night performance of the play A Unique Assignment at the History Theatre in St. Paul on Saturday, March 16. The play is inspired by the 2012 book, James Meredith and the Ole Miss Riot: A Soldier’s Story, written by SJU alumnus Henry Gallagher ’61 about his assignment as the officer-in-charge of Meredith’s security detail at a time when Meredith faced very real threats to his life as the first African American admitted to the University of Mississippi in 1962.

For those from CSB and SJU who can attend this opening performance, you are also encouraged to join us for a pre-performance reception at the History Theatre beginning at 6 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be available at the reception. The curtain time for the play is 7:30 p.m.

50 tickets are available for CSB and SJU alums and friends at a special price of $40 each. You will pay for your ticket for the March 16 showing through this event webpage, and your ticket to the play will be provided when you arrive at the pre-performance reception. If you have accessibility needs, please indicate so when you register. All tickets purchased through CSB and SJU will be on the main floor of the theatre.
